Python Frameworks

Anchor's support for Python hosting extends to include many of the popular Python frameworks. Anchor can install these frameworks for you within your web hosting account.

• Zope/Plone
• Pylons
• Django
• TurboGears

Deployment details

Our primary web server of choice (Apache) is configured as a proxy in front of the framework web application server.

All lifecycle management of the framework installation is performed at the user account level. This means you have the capacity to:

• Start and stop the web appliction server
• Full control of the framework configuration parameters.

By proxying all requests via Apache we gain the flexibility and performance of the framework whilst still maintaining the security and stability of the Apache webserver between your application and the public Internet.

Application update policy & process

Anchor continuously monitors and applies updates to all vendor supported applications deployed on a system wide basis on Anchor infrastructure to maintain stability and security.

We do not apply major updates to any application which can effect the stability of live/deployed client services.

Because lifecycle management is controlled at the account level, the version of the framework used in a given deployment can be updated in future by the developer.

Since the Python frameworks are not vendor supported and are installed on per instance basis, applications of security updates, patches and upgrades can be performed by the user or as requested by Anchor. They are not automatically applied.

Pricing

All frameworks are installed on a custom support basis and are specific to your account. Typical cost is $50-75 per install.
